Description:      This course deals with the different methods and theories in applying statistics as an aid in proper understanding of the different branches of science during education and practice of profession.

Course Title:    Organization and Administration

Course Credits:  Lecture 3 units

Description:     This course deals with the direction and management of rehabilitation and physical therapy units in hospitals, community center, schools for handicapped individuals, and public health agencies - including personnel selection, staff supervision and education, interdepartmental relationships, development and use of resources and program planning.

Course Title:  Gross Anatomy with Histology and Embryology

Course Credits: Lecture 4 units; Laboratory 1 unit

Description:       This course covers human embryology, histology and gross human anatomy with special emphasis on upper & lower extremities and back.  Laboratory sessions include the use of microscopes to study prepared slides of different tissues and cadaver dissection and/or use of plastic models with emphasis on practical correlation.

Course Title:   Organ System Anatomy

Description:          This course serves as a continuum in the study of anatomy.  In particular, it deals with the study of the regional anatomy of the head and neck, thorax and abdomen and its internal organs, male and female pelvis and perineum.  Laboratory sessions include the study of the internal organs: whole and pre-dissected and/or the use of plastic models.

Course Title:         Neuroanatomy

Description:          This course covers the development, structures and functions of the human nervous system and its clinical implications.  Laboratory sessions include the study of the brain and spinal cord: whole and pre-dissected and/or plastic models.

Course Title:   Human Growth and Development

Course Credits:  Lecture 3 units

Description:        This course deals with principle of embryology, growth and development from conception to old age.  It concentrates on motor, perceptual, cognitive, language, and psychological aspects of development of an individual in the different stages of life; and application of this knowledge the assessment, evaluation, interpretation, planning, and intervention of patients of various ages and background.  The effects of disability on the growth pattern in each age group are also included.

Description:          This course deals with the study of medical conditions that lead to activity limitation and/or participation restrictions. The discussion includes cardiovascular, rheumatologic, integumentary, pulmonary, endocrinologic, genetic, infectious, pediatric and nutritional conditions.

Course Title:    Clinical Correlation for Medical Conditions

Course Credits:  Laboratory 2 units

Description:     This course deals with the principles governing effective evaluation, assessment, diagnosis, goal-setting, treatment planning and management of patients with orthopedic, rheumatologic, cardiovascular, pulmonary and integumentary conditions. It also includes introduction to clinical reasoning.

Course Title:   Psychological Reaction to Disability

Description:         This course deals with the introduction to medical terminology in psychiatry, diagnostic classification of psychiatric conditions, and treatment methods used in psychiatry.

Description:        This course deals with the study of the fundamentals of general pathology with emphasis on cellular adaptations, tissue and cellular reaction to inflammation and injury, degenerative processes and tissue repair.

Course Title: Introduction to Patient Care and Basic PT Principles including Hydrotherapy

Description:          This course is an introduction to the necessary basic care of patients including vital signs and other basic nursing and physical therapy procedures. This also covers the basic integumentary assessment and wound care, and application of the properties of water, cold and superficial heat and massage.

Course Title:  Measurement and Evaluation in PT

Course Credits:  Lecture 3 units; Laboratory 1 unit

Description:     This course deals with the principles and techniques of examination such as musculoskeletal, orthopedic, neurological, functional, motor control and coordination as guide in the formulation of PT treatment goals and plans. It also includes the introduction to techniques of history-taking, evaluating results of examination using critical reasoning and accurate documentation of findings according to prescribed format.

Description:        This course is an introduction to neurology and deals with the diseases of the central and peripheral nervous systems including effects of drugs on common neurological conditions.

Description:          This course deals with theories and principles of community-based rehabilitation in the Philippine context.

Description:      This course deals with the study of surgical conditions that lead to activity limitation and/or participation restrictions.

Description:      This course deals with the theories and techniques of specialized exercise specific to neurologic and developmental pediatric conditions.
