COURSE TITLE: RESEARCH METHODS IN EDUCATION

COURSE UNIT: 3 UNITS

COURSE DESCRIPTION;

This course intends to equip the graduates with the necessary knowledge and understanding of the basic concepts, principles of different kinds of research, research methods, statistical procedure and the analysis of data. It deals with the nature and characteristics of research and its scientific methodology to solve problems and enlighten the graduate students the total spectrum endeavor starting from the problem formulation through writing a research.

COURSE TITLE: PHILOSOPHY AND THEORIES OF LEARNING

This course is designed to highlight the theories, philosophies and principles of education so that educators of present day can equip themselves with requisite qualifications. All major principles and philosophies are given elaborate treatment.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This course review the legal issues confronted by educators and the new laws on education. This also allows the students to understand and interpret the different statutes for education and school administration. The existing jurisprudence over the said statutes, rules, regulations, affecting school in the Philippines is included in the study.

COURSE TITLE: ISSUES IN EDUCATIONAL POLICIES AND REFORM

COURSE UNIT: 3 UNITS

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This course is designed to introduce teachers to the education policies and procedures established by government agencies. Topics include policies and guidelines of education in all levels as well as memoranda issued by the Department of Education and Commission on Higher Education.

This course prepares future school administrators with theory, knowledge, skills and sensibilities to attract, select, develop personnel; create policies, conditions to retain the best; and provide opportunities for their growth and advancement to enhance the quality of education for students. This course draws from the substantial literature on the management of human resources, organizational development, human relations, and professional development, and other areas of study relevant to the purposes of this course.

This survey, analyze and apply the philosophy, ethics, and moral values of educational leadership for school administrators. This also emphasizes the theory and philosophy of educational change. Research about ethical and moral leadership in schools is also given importance.

This course reviews the total operation of personnel and school management functions and staff development. Knowledge and understanding of personnel management, personnel relations, personnel laws and procedures, and collective bargaining are covered.
